Meet the people behind the Microsoft Innovation Center in Greece

 

    Patrick Malone- Director
Patrick holds a degree in Software Engineering from the University of Birmingham, and an MBA from the Athens Laboratory of Business Administration (ALBA). He has been with Microsoft since 2005, initially as a Senior Developer Evangelist, from 2006 as Architect Evangelist and since January 2008 as Technology Director.  Before Microsoft, Patrick was an independent technology advisor for various organizations, while earlier he was the CTO of Broker Systems, a pioneering company that produces software for stock market agents.

   
Fotis Draganidis- Operations Manager 
Fotis Draganidis holds a diploma degree from the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Democritus University of Thrace, an MBA and a PhD from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) Greece in the fields of competency management with semantic web technologies. He has worked for 10 years for Microsoft Hellas as an Academic Programs Manager, responsible for technology transfer and support of innovative ideas in the Greek academic community. He is currently the Education Lead at Microsoft Hellas and the Operations Manager of the Microsoft Innovation Center.
Fotis Draganidis- Operations Manager

    Lydia Morazzani- Business Operations Manager
Lydia Morazzani holds a BA in Economics and International Relations from Brown University and an MBA from Athens Laboratory of Business Administration (ALBA). She has worked as a Sr. Associate in the Structured Finance department at Moody’s Investors Service in New York and London and as a Research Analyst at McKinsey & Co in Athens. At Microsoft, prior to joining the Innovation Center team she held the EMEA Programs Manager position where she was responsible for the regional promotion of online and offline technical content to the IT Professional audience.

    Fotis Karayiannis- Research Programs Manager
Dr. Fotis Karayiannis has 15 years of experience in the ICT research area and equal participation in European projects, focusing mainly in ICT and e-Infrastructures. He holds a PhD from NTUA, Greece in the fields of Management of Broadband Networks. He has worked for OTE Consulting, GRNET, CERN, Microsoft and Athens University of Economics and Business as external consultant for major ICT projects and for the development of networking and Grid infrastructures.

    Dimitris Gkanatsios- Academic Programs Manager
Dimitris Ilias Gkanatsios has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Athens, Department of Informatics and Telecommunications is currently a postgraduate student in the University of Piraeus, in Network Centric Information Systems. He is a Microsoft Student Partner since October, 2006 and was nominated as a Visual C# MVP on July, 2007. Prior to joining Microsoft he has worked as a freelance software developer, and as a programming tutor.
